Kadikoy, which is a completely urban area today, developed as a residential area in the 19th century and grew with its districts and neighborhoods extending to Bostanci.

It is thought that between 5000 and 3000 BC, the first human settlements appeared around Istanbul.

The first hand axes belonging to the chipped stone age on the Anatolian side were found in İcenkoy.

In the same period, a second settlement called "Halkedon" "Copper Country" emerged between Cape Moda and Yogurtcu opposite the first settlement.

Chalkedon gained fame with the Temple of Apollo during this period, and Haydarpasa Meadow was used for horse races.

In 658 BC, the Byzantine Empire settled in Sarayburnu and  laid the foundations of the city of Istanbul.

However, during the Byzantine Empire, when the beauty of Kadikoy came to the fore compared to the opposite shore, he described Kadikoy as a symbol of blindness and called it the "Land of the Blind".

For this reason, it has also been referred to by this name in various sources.

Chalkedon experienced many sieges and came under the control of the Ottoman Empire in 1352 - 1353.

With the Republican period, Kadikoy started to benefit from modern urban services.

Electricity came in 1928 and tram services started from Kadikoy to Uskudar - Kisikli in 1929.

In the following years, with the implementation of zoning zoning plans, the population increased rapidly and Kadikoy  became an important residential area between Kiziltoprak and Bostanci.

In the 1970s, 1. The opening of the Bosphorus Bridge reduced the importance of the sea route and directed traffic to the bridge.
